This Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud is the successor to the successful G-ON1 dashcam. The video resolution has been improved and this G-ON2 films with razor-sharp QuadHD (2K) resolution. In addition, the dashcam comes standard with a 64GB Micro SD card. Furthermore, just like the other G-ON models, it is packed with functions and possibilities and you can also connect this dash cam via Cloud to keep an eye on your car from anywhere in the world.
The Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud films with very sharp QuadHD (2K) resolution. Due to the use of the SONY Starvis image sensor, the images are of exceptionally good quality, especially in the dark. The rear camera films in FullHD and they both record in 30fps (frames per second).
The rear camera is connected to the front camera with a long supplied cable of 6 meters and also receives power via this cable, so no additional power supply is required. For longer vehicles, a 9 meter cable for the rear camera is available (see accessories).
The best thing about the Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud is the possibility to connect to the dashcam with the internet via a WiFi hotspot in your card. Via the WithCloud App you can then watch your car in live mode and receive notifications of events. This allows you to always keep an eye on your car, wherever you are.
With the optionally available SIM WiFi adapter (see accessories) you can easily create a WiFi hotspot in the car. You place a SIM card with a mobile data subscription in the SIM adapter and connect it in the car via USB. You can then easily connect the Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud via the App to the WiFi network so that the dashcam is connected to the internet.
The WithCloud system is accessible via the App or PC and is part of an extensive Fleet management system with the following options:
- Live streaming of images
- Live GPS tracking
- Parking position notifications
- Driver reports (driving time, behavior, etc.)
- Geo-fencing (virtual location)
The Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud is equipped with Wi-Fi to deliver images within a radius of about 10 meters to view on the phone. The images can be viewed and downloaded via the free app, so that the SD card no longer needs to be removed from the camera. By viewing the files via WiFi instead of the Cloud, you do not lose any data via the SIM card.
The Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud comes with external GPS antenna. This GPS module allows the speed to be displayed on screen and, moreover, the coordinates of the locations where filming has taken place. This makes it possible to view exactly where certain recordings were later with the supplied software.
The Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud has a handy automatic Time Lapse parking mode function to secure the car when it is parked. In this Time Lapse mode, the camera takes two photos every second and this is later played back as an accelerated video.
Due to the Time Lapse mode, the videos do not take up too much space and can therefore be viewed for a very long time. recorded without filling up the SD card. In combination with the supplied Continuous power supply, the parking position automatically engages when the car's ignition is switched off and normal recording resumes when the car is started.
To use the parking position, the dashcam must be connected with the supplied Continuous power supply. The Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud dashcam therefore has a built-in low voltage cut-off system. Thanks to this system, the dashcam notices when the car's battery is about to run out and switches the camera off immediately in that case. So you don't have to worry about ending up with an empty battery. The voltage can be set to 11.3/11.5/11.8/12.0/12.3V via the App or PC viewer.
The ADAS 2.0 system on this Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud is a built-in 'Advanced Driver Assistant System'. This system supports the driver in three ways while driving:
FCWS: 'Forward Collision Warning System'. This system gives a warning when a vehicle in front is approached at high speed. The system alerts, for example, in the event of traffic jams in front of the car. With a good GPS signal, the current speed is known and the camera can make a good assessment of the situation around the car.
LDWS: 'Lane Departure Warning System'. When the car threatens to change lanes on the highway, the camera can give a signal.
FVSA: 'Forward Vehicle Start Alarm'. Do you sometimes not pay attention when you are standing in front of the traffic light? This system gives a warning when a vehicle in front starts to move away, for example at a traffic light or in a traffic jam.
*Depending on the type of (highway) road, the ADAS system works better at some locations than at others. For example, the LDWS system can issue an alarm faster on narrow roads than on wide roads. Our personal experience is that on European roads the system often gives a warning too quickly, which can sometimes be experienced as a nuisance.
The camera of the G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud can be rotated 90 degrees and can therefore always be aimed at the road.
The Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud supports MicroSD cards up to 512GB and is therefore unique. It comes with a 64GB Micro SD card, which is good for about 12 hours of FullHD recordings (with rear camera, so 2x 6 hours).
As an alternative to the continuous power supply, it is also possible to connect the G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud with the Plug&Play OBD plug. You simply plug the plug into the OBD input of the car and after connecting the G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud automatically switches in and out of parking mode when you switch the car's ignition on and off.
It is also possible to use the optionally available cigarette power supply for easier installation. The dashcam will automatically switch on and off with the ignition of the car. Please note that the parking position using the cigarette power supply will therefore no longer work.
If you do not want to connect the dashcam to the car's fuse box, but still want to use the parking position, it is best to use the above-mentioned OBD power supply: Cellink Battery pack (see accessories). This allows you to easily power the dashcam when the car is parked.
This Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud has a 160-degree wide-angle lens on the front and 150 at the rear. This captures a very large area around the car.
This Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud stores the super sharp video images on the SD card with the latest H.265 HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding). In short, this means that the dashcam consumes less memory than other FullHD dashcams. The files are therefore of the best quality, but do not take up too much memory on the MicroSD card.
Due to the built-in G-sensor, the dashcam detects when you have had an accident. In the event of an impact, images are automatically stored securely so that they are no longer lost. They can no longer be overwritten and cannot be deleted via the dashcam.
The Gnet G-ON2 QuadHD Cloud has a built-in microphone so that sound is also recorded. The microphone can also be switched off if desired.
The current time and date are always displayed on screen so that it can be shown later at what time the relevant recordings were made.
