The Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS is the long-awaited successor to the popular and reliable A129 series. In doing so, Viofo has updated both its design and specifications. The Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD (2K) films at QuadHD (2K) resolution, both front and rear. Combined with a built-in 5.0MP Sony Starvis sensor, the A229 delivers razor-sharp images on both the front and back. Furthermore, the A229 is equipped with 5GHz Wifi module, allowing you to review or transfer recordings to your smartphone or tablet with lightning speed and ease. The Viofo A229 2CH comes standard with GPS holder and has a bluetooth SOS control.
Because the Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS is equipped with two cameras, it can record both in front and behind the car. It records at both the front and rear with QuadHD (2K) resolution in 30fps. The rear camera is connected to the front camera with a long supplied 6-meter cable. Images from the rear camera are stored separately on the SD card. The 2.4-inch HD LCD screen displays the rear camera on one-fourth of the screen via PiP (Picture in Picture)
The Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS is equipped with dual-band Wifi (5 Ghz) making file transfer very fast and the network very reliable. Through the Viofo App, images can be directly viewed and downloaded via the Wifi on any iOS and Android phone and tablet.
The Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS films with QuadHD (2K) image quality. The super-fast Novatek 96660 chip combined with the two SONY sensors make all details easily visible, even in the dark.
The Viofo A129 Plus Duo QuadHD Wifi features automatic parking mode with motion detection or Time Lapse. With motion detection, the camera is on standby and begins a 30-second recording when motion is detected. With Time Lapse, the camera continuously records a 1fps video that can later be played back (sped up) as 30fps video. In this way, evidence is always available if the car has been damaged while parked.
Note: The automatic parking mode only works if the dashcam is used with the Continuous power supply for the Viofo A229 (optional accessory). If connected, the camera will automatically switch to parking mode when the car ignition is turned off and switch to normal recording when the car is started.
With the convenient optional Viofo A229 Plus Duo QuadHD Wifi Bluetooth SOS button, a manual SOS recording can be started on the Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS at the touch of a button. The SOS button can be easily connected to the Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS by turning on the dashcam and holding the button for 3 seconds. The blue indicator LED on the button will illuminate blue if the connection is successfully established. The SOS button can be mounted anywhere within the vehicle using the included adhesive.
The Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS comes standard with GPS module. The GPS allows the current speed to be displayed in the image. This can be decisive as evidence in an incident. In addition, the GPS will remember the location of the places where the dashcam was filmed. Via the software on the PC, the covered route can therefore be viewed.
The GPS is incorporated in the holder that is attached to the windscreen. Optionally, an additional GPS holder can be ordered when the dashcam is used in multiple vehicles. The GPS holders remain on the windscreen and the camera can therefore easily be switched between vehicles.
This Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS dashcam has a 2.4-inch HD LCD screen. The screen displays live images and allows easy menu control. If desired, the built-in screensaver automatically turns off the LCD screen after a set number of minutes so it does not interfere with the driver.
With its 140˚ + 160˚ wideview "fish eye" lens, the Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS has a long range and records almost everything in the environment.
Due to the 1.6 aperture on the front and 1.8 aperture on the rear, combined with a 7G lens, a lot of light is captured, making the quality of the images both during the day and in the dark very good.
The HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology enables the camera to generate sharp images at both very high and very low light intensities. This allows the camera to capture sharp images both in daylight and at night in low light conditions.
The Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS is equipped with WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) hardware. This allows the dashcam to automatically adjust the light intensity depending on the environment. As a result, the WDR guarantees the best image quality under varying conditions.
The Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS dashcam starts filming automatically when the car is started. So you no longer have to look at it when it's hanging in the car. The condition is that it is connected to the power supply in the car.
With its built-in G-sensor, the Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS dashcam notices when you've been in an accident. Upon impact, images are automatically stored securely so they are not lost. They can no longer be overwritten or deleted via the dashcam.
The AV output allows the dashcam image to be displayed on an external monitor, such as an in-car navigation system. An AV cable is required to transfer the images.
The optional CPL filter ensures optimal protection and image quality under sunny conditions. The CPL filter acts for the dashcam like Polaroid sunglasses for the eyes. Harmful UV radiation is filtered out and annoying reflections are eliminated. This improves the image quality and durability of the camera.

The Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS equipped with a super capacitor battery. This battery allows the camera to properly shut itself off after power is lost. Super capacitor batteries are specifically designed for use in dashcams because they are more durable than regular Polymer Li-ion batteries and are also more resistant to high and low temperatures.
The built-in microphone in this dashcam also records sound in and around the car. The microphone can be turned off if desired
The Viofo A229 2CH Duo QuadHD Wifi GPS supports MicroSD cards up to 256gb. This is enough for about 48 hours of FullHD video (24 hours in 2CH).
